In this review John Paterson tests out the Aquavis on a low-level walk on a very wet day in The Lake District. On a recent trip to The Lakes, Peter Burgess accompanied John on a local, low level walk along the route of the old Threlkeld to Keswick railway. The day was very wet and an ideal opportunity to test the 'Aquavis '.
The rain and wind abated little on this short escapade along the route of the former railway, but John was impressed by the piece of clear plastic. Although we did discuss its use on high fells we concluded that its limitations were probably to low level walks akin to the one we were taking. We thought that on the mountains the piece of plastic could actually be a nuisance rather than of use. However, John was pleasantly surprised by how dry his spectacles were and on the walk several people suggested how useful the piece of kit was. I am sure that for exercises like walking the dog, playing golf and other such activities the Aquavis is ideal. At the end of it all John's spectacles were perfectly dry.
