Usually they end up smelly and threadbear, but they're often a godsend for your feet. Buy cheap, ill-fitting socks and you might just get more than you bargained for. Buy decent socks and who knows, when you forget your gloves you might just be pushed to wear them on your hands! |

Of all your kit, your footwear is the most important. This kit is guided by cost, size and comfort. Spend £150 on ill-fitting boots and the guy with the £49.99 bargain could well be kitted out best. |
