The OFC group in the Cat and Fiddle
Post walk pint
The weather was kind to us most of the time.  We started off in mist but this cleared to give us good views for much of the walk.  In the end 13 of us set out and returned having done just under 12 miles (sorry folks it was a little longer than originally planned) and 663 meters of ascent in 6 hours and 45 minutes.
There were 13 people who were very glad of a drink and a sit down in the Cat & Fiddle afterwards.  I  suspect a few people have taken rather more pictures then me as I only took 51.
Thank you to Keith for the drink, I really enjoyed it and thank you everyone else for your company.  I guess you all slept well after it!
I look forward to seeing everyone else's photos and if anyone found Les' double chin because I never saw one!

Regards
Angela
Thanks for a lovely day. It was just brilliant, with the added  surprise of the public loos actually being open! It was sooo nice to meet old friends and see new faces.  Thanks ever so much again Angela. Les and Kev
Thank you to Angela and everyone for a fabulous day.The weather held off (and actually got better as the day wore on,providing wonderful views into the far distance) and the company was terrific.  Two hours drive from the Cat and Fiddle to my home...not bad!  Ian Smith
It was good to meet everyone again (and for the first time for some).  It certainly was an enjoyable day. Neil Haslewood
Thank you all for such a good day, Les, Neil for excellent photos.  I hope to see you again on the next walk or should it be "waggle"?  A big thank you to Angela for making it such a fun day. Keith
Thirteen walkers started from Derbyshire Bridge car park above the Goyt Valley and headed for Burbage Edge.  Then it was a descent down Wildmoorstone to Errwood Reservoir and the Goyt Valley.  Lunchtime refreshments were had at Errwood Hall before continuing to the Spanish Shrine. Then it was Pym Chair, Cats Tor and Shining Tor before descending down Stake Clough to Goyts Clough and the road back to the car park at Derbyshire Bridge.  It was a great day full of laughter and enjoyment.  The weather started with low cloud and mist but this soon cleared to give some great views. With only one shower of rain (waterproofs on for a very short time) and rest of the day was dry.  We all had refreshments at the Cat and Fiddle Inn after the walk.  The walk was 11.90 miles with 660 metres of ascent and took 6 hours 45 minutes. A great and fun day was had by all.

It was a fun day until I realised there were 13 of us! Les, Kev and myself all took unlucky tumbles but luckily no one got their camera out in time! I think my triple somersault was the winner!
We had a good wallk and Megan tried to increase our number by rounding up a group of Liverpudlians and 3 fell runners!  Lin Charnley
Hi all, just a quicky to say cheers to Angela for arranging a fine walk and for managing to keep the weather good for us!  Thanks also to all who came along, good to see you all again, good laugh all the
way round.  Steven Procter

Cumbrian Floods 2009
Read more... During the recent flooding episode which hit Cumbria and some parts of south-west Scotland it seemed inappropriate to linger on the events and developing trauma to hit the area.  Media hype has festered on the tragedy and many people watching on their TV or listening on the radio could do little but offer support directly to people they might know in the region either by e-mail or telephone.  With the worst of the severe weather now over it seems appropriate to highlight the clean-up and aftermath as national media coverage begins to subside.  Now that the clean-up has begun perhaps some of us may be able to offer support by way of financial contribution especially in the run-up to Christmas.  If you'd like to donate - no matter how small a sum, please read on...

The Lost Sheep 8 - Available Now

Issue 8 - OUT NOW!
The long and anticipated wait for the launch of the next issue of The Lost Sheep is now here.  Issue 8 is a veritable feast of articles which again have lifted the quality of the publication to a heady height which belies our humble roots.  The OFC should really be proud of ths publication especially after the £500 raised for Duddon and Furness MRT.  If you would like to get your hands on a copy or 10 then please do read on...
