February Walks by members
February has continued with freezing levels on the fells although later in the month the thaw really set in. Members walks available both here and via the Yahoo! site have demonstrated some fantastic experiences for many of you. Don't forget, if you have a walk you would like adding then submit it through the link at the base of every page.
| Northern Arans 2-day backpack with V&G A 2-day circuit of the Northern Arans following our familiar approach up the northern ridge and circling around to Creiglyn Dyfi, and returning via the very seldom trodden north ridge of Esgeiriau Gwynion. Almost all the snow has gone now even around the summit of Aran Fawddwy at just under 3000 feet, but Llyn Pen Aran had retained a covering of snow to give us an excellent though brief taste of the winter scenery. The timing was perfect for this circuit though: clear summits and sunshine for the high ridge walk and its extensive views on the outward leg, and superb dramatic vistas of thick trapped mist boiling over the cliffs for the walk through the deserted cwm and return leg via the clear eastern hills.

Would you like to see your walk featured here?Whilst we welcome member contributions, it would help us immensely if you could provide the following pieces of information: - the date of the walk
- a title for the walk
- a brief description of the walk (this should be no more than about 100 words)
- a link (URL) to your website, Picasaweb, Webshots, Fotki or Flickr gallery, blog etc. (Ideally this will be a link directly to the page/album that represents this walk to assist members looking back through the archives.)
- a single photograph or image that you would like displayed alongside your walk entry (this should ideally be taken on the walk that you are submitting, but can be something else such as your logo or a generic photograph that is personal to you). This image should be JPEG or PNG format and resized so that it is 100 pixels wide. The height can vary according to whether the image is landscape or portrait orientation.
Please read our Submission Guidelines for full terms and conditions, including important information about copyright. We hope to have an online submission form soon, but in the meantime you can email the details to fellrunning@fellwalkingclub.co.uk |

"I love the Lake District. Went for first time 20 months ago. OFC website is the best thing I've found, along with all the members' sites. My kids at school log on every morning as well." Sue Sullivan
