Today's walk was a hill about an hour's drive from home: Beinn Dearg in Glen Artney near Crieff. |

I have not been on top form recently and was persuaded by a friend to go for a walk. Am I glad I went? Yes! Just a super day, warm and some lovely cloud inversions. |

Thursday's weather was to be mixed so we went up in the hope we would get a window in the weather. The drive up was horrible with snow, sleet and strong winds and the road alongside Loch Rannoch snowy and icy, but passable. |

The weather matched what the forecast guys said, plus a bit more! A cloud inversion so we did Meall na Fearna, next to Ben Vorlich, starting a few miles up the south side of Loch Earn. |

Off up to Glen Shee on Sunday in what use to be a busy skiing area but not much snow now. |

I have been out twice over the last week on Thursday up Balquidder way to Meall Mór. Weather was to be clear but of course it wasn't. As we parked the car at Inverlochlairg noticed the hills that I saw a few weeks ago that had been covered is snow, were bare with only patches of snow. The cloud level must have been down about 1500ft but everything was covered in frost, also the robin that I met last time was still there waiting to be fed but at least he was not in my car. |

Could not manage a walk at the weekend due to family funeral; though have to say weather was terrible here with snow lying for a short while later in the day. Sunday was not a lot better and so cold. Watched the weather forecast and could see Monday & Tuesday looked good but decided to go on Monday and chose wisely for a change. |

Lucky old me out on Sunday with two friends. It was our intention to do two hills in Glen Shee starting near the ski centre. Now there is a reason why the ski centre is there, and that's more chance of snow! |
