A group of the OFC met at the National Trust car park in Buttermere ready for a circuit of the Buttermere fells. These are impressive mountains in anyone's book and today would see a clockwise circuit of these most mighty of peaks. The main objective, I suppose had to be the main summit of High Stile but what makes this round is the continuing views and vistas which pan out at every cardinal point. To the south you get terrific side on views of Pillar and in all directions there are views encompassing most of the major tops. All-in-all this was a great day on the high tops in the company of great companions. Apparently, even the youngest guy in the group enjoyed it - Matthew said it was the best walk of his holiday by all accounts, so that can't be bad, can it? Anyway, I'll again let a short video entertain you and show the delights of the day - I can heartily recommend this route if you haven't done it yet.
