After starting at the summit of The Gospel Pass above Hay I proceeded in an anticlockwise direction to ascend Twmp, Pen Rhos-Dirion, Pen-y-Maillwyn, to the summit of Waun Fach (highest of the range at 850m) and then along the ridge to Mynydd Llysiau and Pentwynglas. I walked further than anticipated onto Pen Allt-mwar before descending to the Grwyne Fechan River through a mountainside of fresh bracken leaving me with cuts on my legs! Back onto the hills I proceeded north over Pentwyn-mawr and the shapely summit of Pen-y-Gader-Fawr which looks Ingleborough like in its persona. From Waun fach i retraced my steps to Gospel Pass after 8 hours, 1300 metres of ascent and 21 miles. All in all a great days walk. I guess it didn't kill me - I'm here to tell the story!
