My 1990 title
Title
I have many photographic prints that date from the pre-digital age.  I thought it would be fun, after my absence from the fells to publish images from some of my walks from years ago.  Not only will this archive my images for posterity but it might also give a few laughs along the way.  I hope you enjoy some images from the fells from the last millenia in the pre-digital age.

My exagerated descriptions!
1990 Description!
This walk was with my friend Andrew Bury who asked me to go walking with him on a few occasions.  I was just 18 at the time!  My friend asked me to accompany him as he was soon to go into the RAF and wanted to improve his general fitness.  The walk was not necessarily that long but before the days of Camelbacks and other water carriers we miscalculated our needs in the hot temperatures and ran out of liquids somewhere on Martcrag Moor.  Also, in another blunder of logistics, on arrival at the New Dungeon Ghyll the car was still parked at the head of Wrynose and needed retrieving.  Having had some drink, I left Andrew in the bar and ran back up Oxendale and over the col at Red Tarn with the car keys in hand.  It had been a very hot day and with hindsight I must have been bonkers!

It was a good walk for two friends and with these photographs and the original captions, maps and drawings, it's great to be able to relive it here.  I hope you enjoy this walk from 20 years ago!
