Official Photograph A visit to the Army Foundation College, Harrogate to witness the passing out parade of an ex-student. Christopher Murden-Wade kindly invited me to attend this great occasion which I proudly accepted. It was a fine day to see the product of 42 weeks training come to fruition. As well as Christopher, over 700 cadets were passing out and the whole event was kick-started by a display by the Red Devil Parachute Display Team. It was a long drive for Chris's family, Ray Wallin and myself but it was worth it so see a youngster make something of himself.
Proud as punch! Christopher attended Hackney Free & Parochial C of E School where I was a teacher. For five years, Chris was a prominent member of my tutor group and I got to know him very well indeed. He was a great character and through all the ups and downs of growing up, Chris endeered himself to me with his varying interests and amiable character. With his interest in art, which I also enjoyed and hobbies such as uni-cycle hockey (yes that is a sport!) Chris really summed up what kids from the city really can achieve. I am sure that Chris would be the first to admit that things were sometimes hard, but with support from his loving family, his officers at the cadets (like Ray Wallin who also attended the parade) Chris really has done well and made us all proud. Well done Christopher! Watch the ava presentation to see some images from the day:

"I love the Lake District. Went for first time 20 months ago. OFC website is the best thing I've found, along with all the members' sites. My kids at school log on every morning as well." Sue Sullivan
