 | Loweswatercam, Mosser Road and Hopegill walks After a snowy period of weather over Easter, the sun has returned, the temperatures have warmed and green fells are once again in evidence. The dogs and I walk one of our favourite tracks, which climbs steadily up the old road towards Mosser on the other side of Low Fell. | 30/31st Mar 2008 |
 | Loweswatercam, Black Star and Fleetwith Pike While the boys climbed the Iron Way, we walked the mine road and met them at the top. From Black Star we continued on to Fleetwith Pike and enjoyed the sunshine and some fine views in between the snow showers. | 27th Mar 2008 |
 | Loweswatercam, The Via Ferrata at Honister The boys were really keen to go scrambling this holiday so today we booked in for the Via Ferrata on Honister Crags. Ann, Jo, John and the dogs would be walking up the mine road and would meet us at the top. | 27th Mar 2008 |
 | Loweswatercam, Misty Helm Crag The Greenburn Round is a walk that includes four Wainwright Fells. The boys wanted a fell with a scramble at the top so Helm Crag it is. | 26th Mar 2008
|
 | Loweswatercam, Grisedale Pike in the snow The snow has been hanging on the tops of the fells so the boys wanted to go and see. Up there it's a different world, far apart from the mellow green of the valleys below. Get your warm gear on for this one. | 25th Mar 2008 |

| Loweswater Cam, Mosedale and Darling Fell Due to the differences in school holidays, Cathy and Richard had to return home with the two youngest boys, so on Monday, and while Roger was at work, Ann took the two older boys up Darling Fell.

| Loweswater Cam, Hen Comb with the boys The Easter weather, far from being disastrous as the forecast had suggested, turns even more beautiful with overnight snow and extensive sunshine. That breeze was cold though. | 23rd Mar 2008 |

| Loweswater Cam, Anglers Crag at Easter With a free day at last coinciding with good weather, and with the grandchildren up for Easter, we pick a simple route for an afternoon walk that suits the needs of some and the ability of others. | 22nd Mar 2008 |
| Western Lakeland with Andy Wallace I missed my walk last weekend with having to work so I decided to make a 2-day trip to Ennerdale to make up for it. On Friday I walked from the western shore of Ennerdale Water, in very strong wind I climbed Grike, walked across Whoap and climbed Lank Rigg; I walked back to the Ennerdale fence and on to Caw Fell. I dropped back down to Silver Cove and descended by the side of Silvercove Beck to Ennerdale. On Saturday I walked from the car park at Bowness Knott to Low Gillerthwaite to climb Red Pike in the snow; it was sunny and clear at the summit of Red Pike but got windy again as I walked the ridge to Starling Dodd and on to Great Borne before a tricky little descent by the side of Rake Beck.

| Borrowdale Fells 3-day Backpack with V&G A fine 3-day solo circuit of fells around Borrowdale with fragmented late winter snow on the highest peaks. The weather was mixed overall but the clarity and changeability gave superb landscapes in the clear periods, presenting rare opportunities to capture the dramatic mixtures of light and dark skies on rock, snow and frozen pools. There was a fantastic sunset and sunrise from the tent pitch above High House Tarn, the second occasion it has happened there: both suddenly appearing from nowhere and captured in the nick of time. | 16th Mar 2008

| Loweswater Cam, Going Ape at Whinlatter There's a new log cabin in the woods that leads to a new adventure centre in the forest, the new Go Ape Centre. Today was the opening day and five of us from Fishers were invited to try it out. | 14th Mar 2008

| Loweswater Cam, A blowy Sale Fell after the rain A poor day weather wise improved after lunch so we managed a not so local Wainwright top as an extended dog walk. Sale Fell is not the biggest, but it certainly is worth a mention in the league of best little fells. | 8th Mar 2008

| Sergeant Man and High Raise with Angie Espin Not the best of conditions for my final walk of the week. An ascent of Sergeant Man & High Raise from Grasmere. Although the weather was reasonable in the valleys, it was misty, wet & cold on the tops with no views to speak of. A complete contrast to the wonderful snowy vistas that Sean enjoyed there two days earlier.

 | Dow Crag with Angela Espin Tuesday was the best day of our week in the Lakes. Blue skies & snow on the fells, perfect conditions for an ascent of Dow Crag. We started near Torver and went up by Goats Water to the summit of Dow Crag. Then along the ridge to Buck Pike & Brown Pike, returning to Coniston by the Walna Scar road.

| Sheffield Pike and Glenridding Dodd with Angie Espin Our week in the Lakes got off to a good start with a lovely walk from Glenridding taking in Sheffield Pike, Heron Pike & Glenridding Dodd. Of Sheffield Pike, AW states that.....' Even on a sunny summer day the top of the fell seems a dismal, cheerless place.' He must have been having a bad day! The views of Ullswater & the Helvellyn range from the lovely summit cairn are spectacular.

| The Pikes of Scafell with Andy Wallace It was dry and cold when I left home and the sun was starting to rise in a clear, brightening sky. I parked near the farm at Seathwaite and walked up Grains Gill and found a quiet ascent of Great End. After descending to Calf Cove I found a busy route to Scafell Pike, but in the bright sunshine it was worth clambering over boulders to explore the quiet summits of Ill Crag and Broad Crag. It was business as usual at the summit of Scafell Pike and quiet again by the time I reached the summit of Lingmell. I descended by the Corridor Route, a straightforward descent if you don't take the wrong turn.

| Creigiau Gleision from Llanrwst 2-day backpack with V&G A backpack to the rugged Creigiau Gleision region via the lakes and forests to the west of Llanrwst. This was a brief slot of generally clear weather in a turbulent north-westerly stream that brought a late taste of wintry elements to the mountains, and the Snowdonia peaks had been dusted with a light snowfall only the night before. The predicted strong bitterly cold wind suggested a sheltered approach from the east and we decided to investigate the climb through the forest from the shore of Llyn Crafnant, which unfortunately meant that the best clear weather occurred when the views were cut off by the trees. However on the ridge there were fine mountain views of a different kind: dark, dramatic and full of atmosphere.

| Loweswater Cam, Hen Comb in the snow An email from a desk bound correspondent was the catalyst that made me cast aside all my "urgent" house jobs and get out for a morning walk with the dogs. Three hours later we were back home after a magical winter's outing. | 4th Mar 2008
|

| Loweswater Cam, A local walk with Jo, Angie and David Angie and David are in the Lake District on holiday and they were able to get over to Loweswater. Jo, whose car is temporarily incapacitated, stayed on (she had no option) so a local walk is in order this afternoon. | 3rd Mar 2008
|

| Loweswater Cam, High Winds on High Tove A poor forecast encouraged us to stay off the high fells. Jill needed these two tops to reduce her fast diminishing list of summits that still remain un-climbed. Looks like we'll have to buy a bottle of bubbly for later this year and not next! | 1st Mar 2008

| Rhinns of Kells to Corserine with Andy Wallace It had been a wet night in Galloway but the morning sky was blue as I set off for the hills; the first navigational challenge was to find the off-road route to Loch Trool from Clatteringshaws Loch. From Craigencallie House, yet another derelict Outdoor Centre, I walked on a forest road and crossed the River Dee by a wooden bridge. I climbed up by a disused quarry face to get up onto the ridge to Darrou, it must be a rarely visited cairn, and then on to Little Millyea which at least gets a mention in the guide book. After descending to a col I picked up the wall and followed it to the summit of Meikle Millyea and walked the Rhinns of Kells ridge across to Milldown and Millfire before climbing the easy slopes of Corserine. I had walked a long ridge and after a quick descent I had a long walk back along the forest road.
