Hopefully this space will be slowly filling up with details of my escapades in the countryside of England. My scope (along with my belly) is expanding, so who knows what I might find to put in my space? Whatever I do, I hope readers find some interest hiding in here.
Time to consult the maps once more.

On Monday Paul Harrison and I had arranged to go for a walk in Longsleddale. Needless to say the weather changed our plans! |

On Saturday I met Lorraine at Windermere and drove into Langdale for a walk up Side Pike and Lingmoor Fell. There was very little snow on the ground and even the high fells had lost much of their white coating. |

On Saturday Lorraine and I had a walk up Blea Rigg. It was a cracking day for it too! Snow up to thigh deep in places, a chance for fine walking, great scenery and snow related tomfoolery. |

Lorraine and I had a walk up to Tarn Hows. We parked at Glen Mary car park. It was dry to start off with and the rain only really started as we reached the tarn. The Tom Gill waterfalls were superb, raging torrents in places. |

On Saturday Lorraine and I had a marvellous Eskdale walk. We managed to get parked at the foot of Hardknott Pass before too many turned up. It was busy later as many wanted to enjoy a day of great weather. |

Today you might have noticed there was a poor weather forecast. I was very diappointed as I had lost a wager with Liz that I would buy her a pint if it rained. It did and I did! (This article now includes video) |

For a pleasant change, the forecast showed that it may rain at some point. For a pleasant change they were wrong! |
