Read more...On Saturday I met Lorraine at Windermere and drove into Langdale for a walk up Side Pike and Lingmoor Fell.  There was very little snow on the ground and even the high fells had lost much of their white coating.

Read more...On Saturday Lorraine and I had a walk up Blea Rigg.  It was a cracking day for it too!  Snow up to thigh deep in places, a chance for fine walking, great scenery and snow related tomfoolery.

Read more...After Saturday's poor do, we decided to have a walk up Lingmoor Fell.  We set out early and were soon halted by having to make regular stops for photos of rivers in spate, flooded hotels and overflowing lakes.

Read more...Lorraine and I had a walk up to Tarn Hows.  We parked at Glen Mary car park.  It was dry to start off with and the rain only really started as we reached the tarn.  The Tom Gill waterfalls were superb, raging torrents in places.

Read more...Too good a day to stop in and watch TV, but where to go?  Lorraine suggested Rivington, so off we went.  The weather was cloudy but the cloud was heading north all the time and we soon had lovely autumn sunshine.

Read more...On Saturday Lorraine and I had a marvellous Eskdale walk.  We managed to get parked at the foot of Hardknott Pass before too many turned up.  It was busy later as many wanted to enjoy a day of great weather.
