Early morning Latrigg Print

After missing out on a Latrigg dawn on Sunday, due to lazyitis, I decided to set my alarm for 5am on Monday.  It was well worth the small effort.

I walked from the B&B in Keswick and crossed the A66 before walking the gentle path around the western flank of Latrigg.  The wind had dropped remarkably from the day before and it was a lovely warm morning with great views across to the Coledale Fells along with some murky Skiddaw scenery, it seemed to be the only fell that wanted to be cloudy.

At the top of the path I turned to follow the limited mobility path to the top of Latrigg, I wouldn't like to push a wheelchair or pram along it, but I suppose it gives many more people a chance to appreciate and enjoy the scenery.

The views were opening up all the way to the top.  It was still the views into Coledale and Newlands that caught the eye best.  Helvellyn and the Dodds in the early morning haze also looked inviting.

With a hearty (I made a pig of myself) breakfast in mind I set off (at a run) back down to Keswick, stopping only for the occasional photo.

A small fell, but one that is worth doing again and again.  As a viewpoint, it ranks with the biggest and best of the fells.
