On July 5th, I attended a course at the university of Innsbruck. So, I took the opportunity being so close to high mountains, and on my way back, I had a night's stay in Salzburg city with my son Peter, who is living there.

After a short sleeping time we started our drive at 6:30 from Salzburg and started to walk at 8am from near Huettschlag in the Groszarl valley to climb Gamskarkogel, 2.465 m.  It was a very delightful high walk in the area of the central Alpine ridge up to one of the few peaks that bear a lodge on the actual summit.  Sitting there outside the house, being served juice, beer and a good though simple meal and enjoying the stunning view was a real delight.
