Looking east from Beinn Liath Mhor

28th December - 2nd January 2009

With some of the most persistent good new year weather ever, I went with some ex-university friends to Loch Carron. Five good walking days out of six yielded many photographs of the Glen Carron summits.

Beinn Ghlas in the final minutes of daylight

6th December 2008

A weekend trip to the Loch Tay region on a good weather forecast gave rise to a short, but very fine mountain day on Meal nan Tarmachan. The snow was deep, and the mountain road to the Lawers visitor centre was under snow and ice, but the clarity of the air made for a very rare day in the UK.

Looking west from Ben Tirran, Glen Cova

26th November 2008

After finally completing my assignment in Singapore, I returned home again to another snowy episode. This time a visit to Ben Tirran was a highlight of my week home.

The summit of Lochnagar

30th October 2008

On my next visit home, we had an unseasonal start to the winter. As part of my visit, I decided a trip up to Lochnagar was called for.

Pass of Glen Shee summits

20th - 22nd September 2008

Sunset over Doi Suthep
National Park, Thailand

16th June - 1st July 2008

Rather than going home to Scotland from Singapore, this time I took two weeks off in Thailand for a sightseeing tour.

Beinn Dearg and Choire Ghranda

13th - 16th May 2008

My visit home to Scotland took me to the summits north and south of the Garve - Ullapool Road. The second half of the journey was a traverse of the Beinn Dearg mountain range north upto Seana Braigh which is illustrated here

The Fannichs with An Teallach behind

13th - 16th May 2008

My visit home to Scotland took me to the summits north and south of the Garve - Ullapool Road. The first half of my journey was a full traverse of the Fannich ridge which is illustrated here

Cloudscape

22nd March - 6th April 2008

I've now added personal photos of a period when I was on home soil. This includes a trip to Braemar with friends - my snowiest easter, two friends getting married to each other, and photos of my jounrney back to Singapore.

Ben Aden and Sgurr na Ciche

13th - 15th February 2008

My later trip was to Knoydart starting from Inverie. Again, I was blassed with Blue Skies and unseasonably warm sunshine. I've added text and photos for mountains in western Knoydart.

Ardgour Summits

12th February 2008

While waiting for the Knoydart ferry, I took a day out to climb the summit of Sgurr Ghiubhsachain just south of Fort William. Ardgour remains a relatively unexplored part of Scotland for me, so this visit added a lot of new photographs to this section of my website.

The Strathfarrar Munros

11th February 2008

On this session, my first mountains to traverse were the Glen Strathfarrar Munros. Barred by a closed road up Glen Strathfarrar, I approached these summits from Strath Conon to the north. Text and Photos added.
