Press Release - March 15, 2010 The Outdoors Show to join forces with Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show In January 2011, the Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show will be joined by the Outdoors Show for four days, Thursday 13 to Sunday 16 January, providing visitors with the ultimate varied and diverse day out.
The Outdoors Show, incorporating the newly formed London Bike Show, is organised by VOS Media and together with the Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show, will provide an extremely valuable market for exhibitors, sponsors and commercial partners.
Since 2002, the NEC Birmingham has been home to The Outdoors Show, Europe’s largest outdoors pursuits consumer exhibition, annually inspiring thousands of visitors to take up active outdoors activities. The move of the show to London has been prompted by feedback from sponsors, exhibitors and consumers, who recognise the demand for such an event in the capital and the extensive commercial opportunities that this presents.
The Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show is the UK’s premier indoor boating event presenting a broad showcase of products and services for boating and watersports enthusiasts. For the last 56 years the Show has acted as an opener for the season.
As well as providing equipment, clothing, information and advice, the Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show and The Outdoors Show annually present top athletes, adventurers and Olympians which in previous years have included Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Ellen MacArthur, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Ben Ainslie, James Cracknell, Sir Chris Bonnington and Ray Mears. VOS Media Managing Director, Damian Norman commented: “Following nine extremely successful years, we are very excited about moving The Outdoors Show to London and our strategic partnership with National Boat Shows, creating what will be a unique experience for London and the UK.”
Andrew Williams, Managing Director of National Boat Shows, said: “We are delighted to welcome The Outdoors Show alongside the 2011 Tullett Prebon London International BoatShow. This forms a significant part of our development for the London show, but it doesn’t end there with a whole host of other enhancements planned. The 2011 show will be an immersive, engaging, educational day out for our visitors, with the added benefit of visiting The Outdoors Show over the last four days of the show.” Cycling has always been a core element of The Outdoors Show, and the move to London with its large and growing population of commuter cyclists, plus road and mountain biking enthusiasts has prompted the formation of The London Bike Show. Unlike other London events, visitors will have the opportunity to try the models of bicycles on show and Madison has been confirmed as the major exhibitor partner for the show.

Will Fripp, Marketing Director of Madison commented “Madison are really excited to be part of what promises to be the first ‘Super Show’ for cycling. With so much cross-over in consumers between the outdoors world, sailing and cycling this new show at ExCeL London is truly exciting for us and offers us a chance to expose our brands to a far wider audience than we have been able to in past cycling consumer expo’s. We have lots planned for the new show including stands from Shimano, Saracen, Cérvelo, Ridgeback, Genesis, Commençal, Madison Cycle Clothing, Pearl Izumi as well as a large expo of all our other key parts and accessories brands for 2011”.
The portfolios of both VOS Media and National Boat Shows reflect their core aims of providing unique experiences encouraging active and healthy lifestyles, an aim shared by ExCeL as a venue for the London 2012 Olympics. David Pegler, Managing Director, ExCeL London, commented: “We are delighted to be working with VOS Media and National Boat Shows to create the largest consumer show in the UK. This new show showcases our strategy on how we are working with organisers to occupy the entire venue and co-locate shows which add value to the organisers, visitors and exhibitors. This unique event also forms a key part of our preparations as a 2012 Olympic venue, inspiring visitors to become involved in a wide range of active and healthy pursuits”. The 2011 Tullett Prebon London International Boat Show runs from 7-16 January 2011. At the OS Outdoors Show 2009
