The Online Fellwalking Club was founded on the 9th April 2001 at the height of the Foot and Mouth Epidemic to give fell and hillwalkers the chance to pacify their inaction during that sorry time. With the passing of the crisis the club continued to flourish.   Although much of the action takes place on the Yahoo! message board this site will benefit strongly with input from the membership. 

I would be indebted to members, or visitors alike, who could present material that could be integrated onto the site.  In matter of fact, anything pertinent to fellwalking and the great outdoors in general can be offered - it would be great to hear from you.  Do not hesitate to get in touch.

I know that with the enthusiasm on offer in the club, this site will flourish.  In the words of Alfred Wainwright, "Fellwalking is action, and fellwalking is fun", but sometimes it's the planning, sharing and retelling that we also enjoy.  I really hope we can welcome you into the fold,
